Alok Pandey, Deputy Director, PRIA thinks writing is an important skill for development workers. His reflections come at the end of the first day of PRIA's Learning Week, held between 4 and 9 April 2016. संवादों के बिना मानव जीवन अधूरा सा महसूस होता है। संवादों के अभाव में एक इंसान दूसरे इंसान तक अपनी बातों और भावनाओं को पहुॅचाने में असमर्थ होता है। ऐसे में संवादों का होना बहुत ही महत्वपूर्ण है। संवाद करने केक बहुत से तरीके हो सकते हैं। किन्तु विकास के कामों से जुड़े लोगों और कार्यकर्ताओं के लिये संवाद करने के तरीकों में से सबसे बेहतर तरीका लिखकर किया जाने वाला संवाद ही है। कार्यकर्ताओं के द्वारा लिखकर किये जाने वाले संवाद का एक लाभ यह भी होता है कि कार्यकर्ताओं के द्वारा किये जाने वाले विभिन्न कामों और व्यस्तताओं के कारण ‘भूल जाने की संभावना’ कम हो जाती है। समुदाय में बदलाव लाने और विकास के कामों से जुड़े लोगों को सामान्य लोगों के साथ ही नीतियों को बनाने वाले लोगों और उनको लागू करने वाले कर्मचारियों के साथ भी लगातार संवाद करना होता है। ऐसे में इन तबके के लोगों के साथ बेहतर संवाद और पैरवी तभी की जा सकती है जब हमारे पास दस्तावेज लिखित रूप से उपलब्ध हों। कार्यकर्ताओं के द्वारा लिखने के काम को कम महत्व दिया जाता है इसका उल्लेख प्रिया की बैठक में भी हुआ। काम के दौरान समय की सीमा का उल्लेख अधिकांश लोगों ने किया। किन्तु इसका दो ही समाधान दिखाई देता है। पहला लिखने के काम को अन्य कामों की ही तरह प्राथमिकता में शामिल करना। और दूसरा, समय का समुचित प्रबंधन ताकि किसी काम को करने के बाद उसको लिखने के लिये समय निकाला जा सके। संक्षेप में कहा जाय तो विकास के काम से जुड़े सभी कार्यकर्ताओं के लिये लिखना जरूरी है चाहे भाषा कोई भी हो।
